Install the DSP Pilot Desktop App
Install guide and troubleshooting for Mac and Windows.
What is this app?
A small background app that signs into your Amazon Logistics portal and keeps your DSP Pilot dashboard in sync with Scorecard, Safety, RTS, DSB, and CDF data. It runs on one computer in your office (or a laptop you leave on), and uses your normal Amazon login.
You can run it on more than one computer for redundancy — each computer needs its own setup file.
Download (v1.0.19)
Sign in to your dashboard at https://dsppilot.com → Configuration tab → “Install Desktop App” card → click the download button for your platform.
The dashboard hands you the installer plus your
one-time setup file (currently named
dsplogic-setup-<YOURDSP>.json; this filename will
change to dsppilot-setup-… in a future release) at the same
time. You’ll need both.
Why not a direct download link? Our releases are stored in a private repo, so the download has to go through the dashboard, which authenticates you and pairs the right setup file to your account.
If you’ve lost access to your account, email support and we’ll send you the installer + setup file out-of-band.
Before you install
You need the setup file we sent you:
dsplogic-setup-<YOURDSP>.json. Save it to your
Desktop. Don’t share it — it provisions this computer to your DSP
account.
Mac install (unsigned — Gatekeeper)
The app is not currently code-signed by Apple, so macOS Gatekeeper will warn you on first launch. This is expected.
Open the
.dmgand drag DSP Pilot to your Applications folder.First launch: macOS will say “DSP Pilot can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.”
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll to the bottom → click “Open Anyway” next to DSP Pilot.
If that still won’t open it, open Terminal and run:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/DSP Pilot.app"Launch DSP Pilot → drag your
.jsonsetup file in when prompted → done.
Windows install (unsigned — SmartScreen)
- Double-click
DSP-Logic-Setup-1.0.19.exe. - Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click “More info” (small link below the big warning) → “Run anyway”.
- Installer runs per-user — no admin password needed. App installs to
%USERPROFILE%\DSP Pilot. - Launch from Start Menu → drag your
.jsonsetup file in when prompted → done.
First-run after setup file
- The app will open an Amazon login window. Sign in to Amazon Logistics once with your normal credentials. Stay signed in (don’t sign out of Amazon on this machine afterwards).
- The app shows a green status indicator when it’s syncing. Leave it running.
- You can minimize it; it lives in your menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows).
Auto-start on boot
- Mac: Settings → Login Items → “DSP Pilot” is added automatically.
- Windows: Adds itself to the startup folder. No action needed.
Updating
- The app checks for updates on launch. If an update is available you’ll see a prompt.
- Because the app is currently unsigned, auto-update sometimes silently fails. If your version is older than the latest on this page, download the latest installer above and run it over the top — your settings and Amazon login persist.
Troubleshooting FAQ
Mac
Q: “DSP Pilot is damaged and can’t be opened” or “Apple cannot check it for malicious software” A: This is Gatekeeper. Either click “Open Anyway” in System Settings → Privacy & Security, or run:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/DSP Pilot.app"
Q: Where are my logs? A:
~/Library/Logs/DSP Pilot/dsplogic.log. In Finder, press ⌘⇧G
and paste that path.
Q: How do I uninstall / start over? A: Drag the app from Applications to the Trash, then in Terminal:
rm -rf ~/Library/Logs/DSP\ Logic ~/Library/Application\ Support/dsplogic-config
Windows
Q: SmartScreen won’t let me run the installer A: Click “More info” (small link under the warning) → “Run anyway”.
Q: Where are my logs? A:
%APPDATA%\DSP Pilot\logs\dsplogic.log. Paste that path into
the address bar of File Explorer.
Q: How do I uninstall / start over? A: Settings →
Apps → DSP Pilot → Uninstall. Then delete
%APPDATA%\DSP Pilot.
Both platforms
Q: App says “missing setup file” or “provisioning
failed” A: You either lost the .json or it was
already redeemed on another computer. Tokens are one-use per device. Ask
us for a new setup file.
Q: Amazon login window pops up every day A: You’re signing out of Amazon somewhere else, or your Amazon session is expiring. Stay signed in on this machine; weekly re-login is normal.
Q: I see “chromium_headless_shell missing” (or “Executable doesn’t exist”) A: On v1.0.15 or older, update to the latest version using the downloads above — that legacy bug is fixed. On a current version (Mac), the app’s browser bundle is damaged or incomplete: reinstall from the latest download, and contact us if it persists after a reinstall.
Q: Can I run it on more than one computer? A: Yes, and we recommend it for redundancy. Each computer needs its own setup file — ask us for additional ones.
Q: Does it store my Amazon password? A: No. Your Amazon credentials are entered into Amazon’s own login page inside a browser window. We only keep the encrypted session cookie locally on your machine. We never see your password.
Q: How do I send logs to support? A: Find the log file at the path above for your OS. Email it to support, or drop it in our help thread.
